Following his father's untimely death, Hamlin wishes to finish school and find his ideal job in order to improve the quality of life for himself and his mother. However, when things begin to change, temptations emerge. When Hamlin's friends, neurotic Nic and the rash Quinn, offer him a seemingly simple way to make money, their friendship is called into question. His ambitions, his mother's hopes, and all of his naive ambitions and aspirations seem to fade away, replaced by the prospect of making a lot of money quickly by trafficking drugs across county lines.
