Joseph
One of the most beloved family musicals in the world, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is returning to the London Palladium in summer 2020!
Why Watch Joseph
First released as a concept album in 1969 by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, Joseph has since played thousands of times, including multiple runs on Broadway, West End, and international productions in over 80 countries. Almost entirely sing-through, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat have won multiple awards over the years, cementing its position as one of the most wildly creative and entertaining musicals of this generation. This brand new production of the now-iconic tale is directed by Olivier and Tony Award-nominated director, Laurence Connor, and is set to thrill audiences for a limited 10-week engagement starting summer 2020.
The Story
Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat is the story of Jacob's favorite son Joseph and his eleven brothers. The show picks up when Joseph is sold to slavery by his jealous brothers and finds himself in Egypt. Potiphar, the captain of Pharaoh's guards, immediately takes to disliking Joseph and ruins his reputation in the city. Things take a turn for the worse when Joseph is thrown into jail for rejecting the advances of Potiphar's wife. In jail, Joseph discovers a unique gift of interpreting dreams. Can he use this ability to get out of his Egyptian troubles and reunite with his family?
