Lucrezia Borgia in Concert

Lucrezia Borgia is known as one of the most conniving and ruthless women of her time. Many believe that she was directly responsible for the deaths of two of her husbands. When a boy named Gennaro happens by a masked woman, he is unaware that Lucrezia Borgia is behind the mask. As they converse, Lucrezia realises that the boy is her long lost son, but she chooses to keep this information to herself. When Gennaro’s friends recognise the murderous woman and inform him of her misdeeds, Gennaro gathers a small group and destroys the Borgia family crest. Death is the only punishment for such a crime. Is Lucrezia heartless enough to execute her own son?

From Milan’s La Scala to the opera halls of Australia, Jessica Pratt has made a name for herself with her dynamic vocal range and agility. She will take on the role of Lucrezia Borgia. Her intricate trills and moving legatos are second to none. She will be joined by 2003 ‘Placido Domingo’s Operalia’ prize-winner Giuseppe Gipali, who will play the part of Gennaro. The performance will be led by renowned Italian conductor Carlo Montanaro.
