A bus ride will take you all the way to Velke Popovice, where the Kozel Brewery is located. A small town, with a population of about 2500. After a short ride through the picturesque city of Prague, you will reach the brewery. Housed in the same building since its inception in 1874, the Kozel Brewery is surrounded by gardens and a spacious courtyard. You will be led by the guide through the courtyard to the historic building where the first Kozel Beer was brewed. Learn the process of brewing one of the most exceptional tasting beers in all of Europe in a special room that methodically explains the entire procedure. You will see some of the unique ingredients used to make this beer in the brewery cellars. The history of the Kozel Brewery can be understood by looking at the multitude of photos throughout the rooms. You will find out the story of how the Ringhoffer family came to acquire the brewery and its journey over the next 140 years.
