Escape Osaka for a day and go sightseeing in Japan’s cultural capital, Kyoto. Your journey begins from Arashiyama, home to hundreds of cherry blossom trees, a beautiful bamboo grove and the great wooden landmark of Togetsukyo Bridge. Follow your expert English-speaking guide along and learn interesting historical facts about all the lovely sights that you see here, before making your way towards the Kinkakuji Temple. The sight of the gilded pavilion covered entirely in gold leaf, framed by pine trees and facing a pristine pond is something that will leave you mesmerized. Considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this ancient structure was converted into a Zen temple after the death of the shogun, Ashikaga Yoshimitsu.
Your last stop for the day is the famous Nara Park. Over 1,000 deer live and roam the park, and have even been designated a national treasure. All through the park, you’ll find deer crackers available for sale. You can even purchase some and feed the adorable deer, who have learned to bow and ask for food! Admire The Great Buddha of Todaiji Temple, the bronze lanterns of Kasuga Taisha Shrine, and the historic temple of Kofukuji here, before heading back to Osaka.
