Sumo originated in Japan sometime in the 1600s and has since remained the only country where it is practiced professionally. Fighters live in communal stables, where all aspects of their daily life - from food to clothing - are dictated by strict tradition. This experience lets you learn more about this age-old tradition as you visit an authentic sumo stable and see the action up close.

Meet your guide at the designated meeting point and make your way to the sumo training center. Seated on the floor, observe a sumo practice session at close range. Make sure not to eat or talk loudly so you don’t distract the fighters!
