As you're driven to the sleepy town in the Bohemian countryside, your guide will fill you in on the expectations of the day. At Terezin, you'll visit the concentration camp that shows traces of its dark past. This sobering but necessary educational experience sheds light on the darkest potential of human beings. Central to the Holocaust, over 33,000 prisoners died in this camp due to malnutrition, diseases, and sadistic treatment. Visit the Museum of the Holocaust, the Secret Synagogue, the Jewish Cemetery, the crematorium, and more. You may even visit the Small Fortress, a former prison during World War II that still reverberates the heartbreaking history of the Holocaust.
