Why You Should Watch Galactik Ensemble -Optraken
'Optraken' in Norwegian refers to a rapid leg movement that allows the body to leap in a controlled manner. The show features five incredible acrobats who must survive a range of hostile set pieces. They must jump, roll, and help each other escape collapsing ceilings, wobbly walls, falling sandbags, and floors that simply disappear. Optraken completely deviates from the typical circus formula, making every moment a spectacularly unpredictable fight for survival!
After a long tour of Europe, Optraken is finally set to make its UK debut this season. Galactik Ensemble, the French contemporary circus company that conceived this show, consists of graduates from the popular Rosny sous Bois School of Circus. The show strives to create a fundamentally unique experience by pitting the performers against a heartless technological enemy that is in control of the murderous set.
