Why Watch The Girl Who Fell

A rare masterpiece by Sarah Rutherford that blends dark comedy with modern themes, The Girl Who Fell has a resounding message for its viewers. There is an element of deep sorrow that looms behind a slew of comical scenes and characters. Rutherford’s tale gleaned an array of rave reviews for its novel storytelling. The play is targeted specifically at young adults and parents who are victims of social media addiction. An elegant exploration of guilt, loss, and scandalous online behavior, The Girl Who Fell is certain to be a resounding success this year!

The Story

Sam, a fifteen year old teenager who was hooked to social media, has just taken her own life. Thea, her mother and chaplain, is unable to bear the crushing grief and seeks to understand the underlying cause of the suicide. She is blamed by others for her daughter’s untimely death, and before long, Thea blames herself too. On her mission to discover why Sam decided to take her life, she is accompanied by the odd teenage duo Billie and Lenny, and a hopelessly lost soul named Gil. As they delve deep into the mystery of Sam’s death, Thea finds that the answers to her questions are far from the way she had imagined them to be. A fascinating story with a conclusion that will stick with you for years to come, The Girl Who Fell is a show you simply cannot miss!
