Your tour begins at the Omoide Yokocho, which literally translates into memory lane. This district boasts rustic food stalls and bars from the 1950s, making you feel like you’re in the middle of the 20th century. Sample different kinds of Sushi and Yakitori (skewers), classic Ramen, roasted giblets, and local drinks!
Head to Kabukicho next, Asia’s largest (and safest) red-light district! Learn all about the Japanese izakayas, the world of Japanese karaoke, and the Robot restaurant, among other hidden gems of this district. Don’t forget to try the local specialty here, Tonkotsu Ramen with a pork broth!
Next, we head to Golden Gai. Dotted with tiny bars, unique izakaya, and vibrant pubs, this district epitomizes Japanese nightlife pretty accurately. Walk in and out of small pubs, stalls, karaoke bars, as you take in the most densely packed nightlife district in the world!
