If you are up for a unique adventure while on your Hungary holiday, you have come to the right place! Take a tour of the Pál-völgy cave that sits in a small quarry in the Buda Hills and explore it through exciting formations like the "Chicken Ladder" and "Giant's Stairway". After it was discovered and excavation intensified, many passages were found that total a length of 32 kilometers, making it the longest explored cave in Hungary. At a certain point in the 500-meter-long path, you will have the chance to tackle 400 stairs which will lead to a change in the level by 28 meters. Adding to your adventure on the tour, you will also come across a steep part of the cave called the “Giant’s Stairway”.
The Pál-völgy cave has a year-long constant temperature of 11 centigrade and is also rich in dripstones. Inside, you will find many narrow corridors but due to dissolution, interesting and unusual formations can be found like hemispherical kettles and spherical niches.
