The play showcases excellent actors such as Kammy Darweish, Karan Gill, Nicholas Khan, Rina Fatina, Nicholas Prasad, and Maanuv Thiara playing the roles of Mansha, Shazad, Raf, Sameena, Sully and Tany respectively. Featuring direction by the talented Pooja Ghai, lighting by David Plater, design by Rosa Maggiora, and sound design and composition by Arun Ghosh, Approaching Empty is a compelling show. It aptly captures the difficulties and hardships of running a gruelling business, especially with the closest friends.

The Story

Set in the post-industrial generation that followed the death of Margaret Thatcher, this captivating new play explores the tension that exists between friends, when trying to run a business together. The play revolves around a few Asian men who came to England as teenagers and spent most of their lives there. Circumstances make them work together, one the boss of the other. Soon, dirty secrets of the business are discovered and the duo is forced to deal with the hardship of running a business as closest friends. Approaching Empty has themes of family, friendship and community that makes it highly relatable, and they are explored excellently, guaranteed to touch your heart. Join the characters on their journey, as they attempt to build a sustainable business in a foreign land.
