Crystal Pite & Jonathon Young / Kidd Pivot — Revisor Tickets

A young man is mistaken for a high-ranking government inspector from Moscow. He is offered a bribe, and plays along, stripping them of their money. The first half of the show is mostly a comedy, with the dancers lip-syncing pre-recorded dialogues as they go about their movements. Laced with puns, political overtones and satire quotes, you won’t have a minute of boredom. What is in store for the carefree young man who can’t believe his luck in having made a quick buck?

Jonathan Young and Crystal Pite won the Olivier Award for Best New Dance Production for Betroffenheit, and have joined forces once more with Pite’s dance company Kidd Pivot. Revisor is based on Nikola Gogol’s political comedy masterpiece of the same name, released in 1836. It was more famously known as The Government Inspector in English and is a satirical comedy of errors, highlighting human greed, stupidity, and corruption. Pite and Young take the concept of revision to the next level, which makes for a thoroughly enjoyable performance!
