Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel & St. Peter's Basilica Guided Tour

Well, it's the Vatican, so that's impressive all by itself. Our guide, Koen, was excellent. He took us to parts of the place that you might not think to check out if you were just exploring by yourself. Also, as you might expect, his knowledge of Vatican history is comprehensive.

Getting tickets and meeting up with our guild was really easy. Our guide "Freddy" was outstanding. His breath of knowledge was amazing, he was very friendly, professional, and easy to approach. Really appreciated how he balance the science and faith perspectives. Great tour, thank you.

We enjoyed our tour with Mauro our guide. He told us all sort of interesting information which made it for us a really nice experience!

The guide was good, BUT every time his face touched the microphone it made scratching high pitched noises that could easily have been avoided for a better and clear transmission without the static interference.

Our guide was Valentina and we had an awesome experience seeing all the amazing views Vatican has to offer (part of the gardens, museums and Basilica).

Our tour guide Laura was excellent - highly knowledgeable, funny, charismatic. We also loved that she moved with intent (polite but aggressive as she said) because there were many people and without a little intent we may not have seen as much as we did! She was definitely our favourite part of the tour. She described aspects of the Sistine Chapel in depth which was amazing and had so much to show us and tell us about exhibits in the museum. She even navigated the complication of the Papal address on the Wednesday well and timed the concluding part of the tour well with the opening of St. Peters square so we could still see the Basilica. This would be my piece of advice to those looking to book - this experience does not advertise that on Wednesdays, the papal address occurs and St Peter's square (and the basilica) aren't open to the public until the conclusion. So it COULD then be possible that unless you wait around for a while after your morning tour for the square to open back up (which luckily it did on ours), then you may not see it. Good to know before you go!

The guide was awesome! Everything was so well organized, loved this experience and highly recommend it if you're visiting Rome. Vatican it's a most go and this guided visit makes sure you don't miss the most important parts ☺️

ticketing experience was good; could have been awesome if more details were provided about which parts of the vatican museum would be covered so additional tickets or decisions could be made (ex. library was not covered). Guide was very knowledgeable, dilligent and engaging.

Getting tickets through Headout was straightforward. The guides communicated with us very well and meeting up and getting into the Vatican Museums didn't take very long. Our guide Rosalia was EXCELLENT AND VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE and explained things along the tour beautifully. She also gave us a very in depth explanation of everything to see in the Sistine Chapel ahead of time since there is a protocol of silence in the chapel...something that some other guides did not adhere to and staff could not adequately enforce. The downside to this or any Vatican museum tour is that the Vatican simply sells too many tickets. Once inside you enter a vortex of people moving forward very slowly. There is no going back and don't even bother to try and stop to take a picture unless it's of the ceiling. Otherwise you'll just be taking photos of a lot of other people's hands with cameras/cellphones.

Easy to buy tickets online, clear meeting instructions and very friendly greeters. Our guide Sara was wonderful, very knowledgeable and happy to answer questions and take photos of us. Highly recommend.

This tour was great and the guide was outdtanding. She was not only very knowledgeable, but was able to prresent it in a very intresting way. They made sure we saw as much as we could in the time frame we had. With suggestions on other things and venues to see, in Rome, as well. I would definetly go again.

The Vatican, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica are amazing! Communication with Headout Bookings was very good; everything you needed to know where to meet the tour. Susana, our guide, was very knowledgeable and highlighted everything! Love how the tours provide ear pieces and everyone on the tour can hear the guide. We learned so much about artists, statues and so much history!
