How do I get to Chichén Itzá?
Tickets in our experiences include round trip transfer from your hotel and back. The easiest way to get to the destination is by booking a guided tour. If you are coming by yourself, you could take the bus or rent a car.  
Can I take the bus from Cancun to Chichén Itzá?
Yes, there are buses from various locations that will take you to Chichén Itzá. There is a daily bus that runs from 8:45 AM from Cancun. The duration of the journey will be approximately 2 and a half hours. 
Can I take the train to Chichén Itzá?
As of now, Chichén Itzá cannot be reached by train. However, a project called the Maya Train is in the works that will connect famous attractions in the Yucatan Peninsula by rail. It is expected to be completed in 2023. 
How long does it take to get from Cancun to Chichén Itzá?
From Cancun, a popular vacationing city, Chichén Itzá is about 2.5 hours with a distance of 187 km, depending on the route you take. The site is 30-40 mins from Valladolid city. The coastal city of Playa del Carmen is about 180 kms from the site and will take 2.5 hours.  
How can I reach Chichén Itzá from Tulum?
If you want to take a Chichén Itzá tour from Tulum you will need to get there first. It takes approximately 2.5 hours to reach by bus or by a rented car. You don’t want to miss the morning bus to the site and return bus in the evening, since buses from Tulum to Chichén Itzá are scarce. 
Is photography permitted at Chichén Itzá?
Yes, photography is permitted inside the archaeological site. However, usage of tripods, selfie sticks, GoPros and other devices and equipment require an additional fee. The usage of drones is not permitted. 
Are outside food and drinks permitted inside Chichén Itzá?
Bringing drinks and snacks within the archaeological site is permitted. 
What are my dining options at Chichén Itzá?
There are centres within the vicinity that sell food and beverages. Most Chichén Itzá tours will also include a lunch buffet towards the end of the tour.

Is Chichén Itzá wheelchair accessible?

The Temple of Kukulcan (El Castillo) 

When Spanish conquistadors first invaded the city, one of the scouts reported back to his unit saying that he had seen the top of a large castle. The 100 feet tall Temple of Kukulcan has been popularly referred to as El Castillo (the castle). The Mayan pyramid is a temple dedicated to the Mayan god Kukulcan, a serpent deity. 

The Temple of the Warriors 

The three-layered Mayan pyramid is located within the great city and carved with images of Toltec warriors. It is surrounded on its south and west sides by hundreds of stone columns.  

Great Ball Court 

The entire court spans 225 feet in width and 545 feet in length. Pok-a-Tok, a revered ball game of the Maya people, was known to be played in this part of Chichén Itzá. The acoustics of the location are fascinating with players at one end of the court being able to hear what is heard at the other end. 

El Caracol (observatory) 

It is believed that this site was a Mayan observatory, which allowed its ancient inhabitants to view the skies for changes in weather and study the constellations to understand and track astronomical events like the solar years and the equinox.
