Why Watch The Tempest
The Tempest is is the last play Shakespeare wrote by himself. This rendition, produced by Iris Theatre, a professional theatre company, is associated with St. Paul’s Church, one of London’s oldest churches with ties to the theatre community that dates back to the 1600s. The play is an immersive and interactive play, with the audience being a part of the set. So, put on your best Shakespearean outfits and prepare for an evening at the end of the world!
The Story
The Tempest tells the story of the magician Prospero, the rightful Duke of Milan, and his daughter Ariel. Prospero tries to give his daughter what is rightfully hers, even if he has to resort to using ill-means to do so. He shipwrecks his usurpers and forces them to reveal their treachery and lowly natures. What follows is his internal struggle, as he is forced to choose between vengeance and the love for his daughter.
