Prague, the capital city of the Czech Republic was founded during the Romanesque era and became one of the most important cities in the Gothic and Renaissance eras. With several famous attractions such as the Prague Castle, Charles Bridge, and Old Town Square, it managed to escape largely unscathed during the destruction that characterized a vast part of 20th century Europe.

The grand Prague Castle complex is a collection of several styles of architecture and art. From the sturdy pillars, massive walls and decorative arcading of Romanesque architecture, to the ribbed vaults, pointed arches and towering structures of Gothic architecture, and finally succeeded by the Renaissance style of using semicircular arches, domes, and columns, the Prague Castle is a treat to behold.

The Vltava River cruise provides a wonderful tour of the city of Prague. The National Theatre can be seen on the cruise. Home to the Czech opera, the theatre is one of the monuments encompassing Czech history, music, and art. It plays a major role in upholding and preserving the Czech language, music, art and way of thinking. Taking nearly 45 years to complete, the Charles Bridge used to connect the Prague Castle and the Old Town can also be observed. Nearly 621 meters long, the bridge was constructed by the Holy Roman Emperor, Charles IV and is protected by 3 towers. Your Experience

For the river cruise, you will be picked up by a tour bus at the hotel you had specified while booking the tickets. Alternatively, you can be picked up at Václavské námestí 27.

The Prague Castle tour, however, does not have a complimentary pickup. You will have to find other means of transport to get there.

The Prague Castle complex tickets are valid for 2 days, with one entry into the interiors. This allows some flexibility in choosing the dates for the Vltava river cruise and the tour of the castle. The Prague Castle tour circuit B consists of the St. Vitus Cathedral, Old Royal Palace, the Basilica of St. George and the Golden Lane with the Daliborka Tower. These monuments are some of the finest examples of architecture from the 10th to 18th century. The skip the line entry saves you both time and energy that can be instead invested in admiring the beauty of the place.

The river cruise lends astonishing views of the National Theatre, Charles Bridge, and the St. Vitus Cathedral. With a professional guide detailing on the history and heritage of the famous structure seen from the air-conditioned boat, enjoy a refreshing cup of tea or coffee as you soak yourself in the beauty of Prague.

On your cruise, you can catch views of the famous Charles Bridge. The towers at its ends are considered to be some of the most notable examples of Gothic architecture across the world. 30 statues and statuaries present on the rails form a spectacular view from the cruise boat, with the underlying gothic bridge.

Also visible from the river is the National Theatre, and with its exquisitely designed interiors, is an excellent example of the late 19th-century architecture.

Know Before You Go

The trip occurs over 2 days and the cruise happens on the second day. Time mentioned inside is for the Prague castle tour

Cruise happens daily for 1.5 hrs and begins at 3:30 PM

If you want to avail the pickup option for your cruise, you must mention the hotel that you are staying in at the time of checkout. Failing to do so, you will have to reach the meeting point Václavské námestí 27 yourself, from where you will be taken to the destination.

The tour bus will leave for the river cruise from the pick-up point at 3:30 PM every day.

The complimentary pickup option is not available for the Prague Castle tour.

Prague Castle:

Please note that the timings mentioned below are the official operational hours of the venue, however, you must meet the representative at the meeting point of your tour at 12 PM in order to collect your ticket and gain entry into the complex.

During the Summer Tourist Season from April to October

Historical buildings: 9 AM to 5 PM

During the Winter Season

How to Use Your Tickets

Prague Castle

You will receive an email with your mobile voucher within a few minutes of your purchase. No need to print. Please display on your mobile phone with a valid photo ID to the representative who will be standing at the main entrance of St. Vitus Cathedral in the Prague Castle complex’s third courtyard. The exact address is III. nádvoří 48/2 119 01 Praha 1. The representative will be holding an open blue and white umbrella. You can exchange your mobile voucher for a physical ticket, after which you can skip the long admission line and enter the castle.

Vltava River Cruise

You will receive your mobile voucher by email a few minutes after your Prague Castle voucher. No need to print! A bus will pick you up from the hotel you’ve mentioned at 3:30PM or alternatively, from Václavské námestí 27, at 3:30 PM and drop you off at the Vltava river. Please display the tickets on your mobile phone with a valid photo ID at the time of pickup.

Getting There

Prague Castle:

By tram: Use tram No. 22 to stop at Pražský hrad, take a left and you will reach the 2nd courtyard of the Prague Castle in 5 mins.

By metro: Take the metro-line A to station Malostranská. Follow tram No. 22 for about a 100 metres. Then take a left and, climb the stairs to reach the Na Opyši gate.

Vltava River Cruise:

Meeting point: Václavské námestí 27

By tram: Use tram no. 5 and get off at stop Václavské námestí.

By metro: Take the metro-line A to station Václavské námestí. You can also take a metro upto station Muzeum on the metro-line C.
