Why Watch The Arrival
Why Watch The Arrival
The Arrival is a complex family drama that explores the dynamics of long lost family bonds. Filled with touching dialogue sequences and winsome character development, the play takes audiences on a fascinating journey through the lives of two men who seem to be cloned versions of each other.
The Arrival is directed by the internationally renowned theatre director Bijan Sheibani. His recent theatre credits such as Barber Shop Chronicles at the National Theatre and Annie Baker’s Circle Mirror Transformation at Home Manchester won critical acclaim. In fact, Barber Shop Chronicles was greeted with full houses during its tour of Australia and New Zealand in 2017.
His awards include the James Menzies-Kitchen Award for Young Directors in 2003, the Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in an Affiliate Theatre in 2008, Best International Production at the Barcelona Critics Circle Awards 2008, and a nomination for the 2017 Southbank Sky Arts Award for Best Opera. The Arrival is truly one of his masterpieces, and owing to the high demand for tickets and limited availability, booking early will ensure that you do not miss out on this spectacular production.
