Meet and Greet the Zany Inhabitants of the Taronga Zoo
This guided tour through Sydney’s Taronga Zoo will let you enjoy the company of Australia’s wildlife up-close and personal. This 100-year-old zoo has over 4000 animals of 350 different species, spread out over 69 acres and divided into eight geographic regions, many of whom you can meet and spend time with.
Follow your zookeeper guide through the zoo, as he takes you around in small groups to visit the animals from up close, for an intimate and insightful experience. Snap pictures with the many marsupials, mammals, reptiles, and others that reside in the zoo’s diverse habitats. Meet some of the (in)famous and quirky residents of the zoo, such as Luk Chai, the first ever elephant calf born in Australia, and the recent trio of Sumatran tiger cubs who are all set to make their first public appearances. Experience the lushness of the Australian bush by visiting the habitats of the wombat, platypus, and take photos with the koalas in their enclosures!
Learn more about these fascinating creatures from your expert zookeeper guide, who will take you behind-the-scenes to such place as the animal kitchen, where you can see how their food is prepared and served. Spend the entire day getting to know the animals as you can explore the zoo on your own before and after the tour. To add a cherry on top, end the tour with refreshments, a souvenir, and a round trip on the Safari Sky cable ride, where you can take in breathtaking views of the Sydney Harbour from your aerial vantage point. Explore this unique wildlife experience in the heart of Sydney, perfect for the animal lovers and wildlife enthusiasts among us.
