Das Ticketing war gut, es war einfach, den Ort zu finden. Montserrat war erstaunlich, schöne Landschaft und der Zug rid war auch gut

Wir hatten uns auf diesen Ausflug gefreut und vorher die Wettervorhersage geprüft. Es bestand eine 90%ige Chance, dass es den ganzen Tag regnen würde. Als es bereits regnete, rief ich eine Stunde vor dem Start beim örtlichen Büro an, um mich zu erkundigen, ob der Ausflug noch stattfinden würde. Man teilte mir mit, dass sie trotzdem stattfinde. Als wir am Treffpunkt ankamen, regnete es in Strömen. Aufgrund des Wetters und des Zeitpunkts der Fahrt (Freitagnachmittag) war der Verkehr extrem dicht. Wir konnten nicht mit der Zahnradbahn fahren, da wir zu spät dran waren. Die Sicht am Veranstaltungsort war aufgrund des Wetters nicht gegeben. Man zeigte uns ein paar Videos und sagte uns, wir hätten 35 Minuten Zeit, bevor wir zum Bus zurückkehren müssten. Dann standen wir 30 Minuten lang in der Schlange, um die Schwarze Madonna zu sehen - niemand kümmerte sich um die Geschwindigkeit der Schlange, und einige Leute waren rücksichtslos langsam. Es blieb keine Zeit für Erfrischungen oder Einkäufe und kaum Zeit, die Toilette aufzusuchen. Ich verstehe, dass die Organisatoren der Reise nicht für das Wetter und den Verkehr verantwortlich sind, aber diese Faktoren hätten berücksichtigt werden müssen. Die Reiseleiter taten ihr Bestes unter den gegebenen Umständen und sagten, sie hätten auf der Reise noch nie so viel Regen gehabt. Meiner Meinung nach hätte die Reise nicht stattfinden dürfen, und den Kunden hätte ein Ersatztermin bzw. eine Rückerstattung angeboten werden müssen. Wir haben das Erlebnis überhaupt nicht genossen und waren von der Leitung der Veranstaltung enttäuscht.

Leave behind the hustle of the city of Barcelona as you head towards the serene beauty of spiritual Montserrat, the magical mountain range of Catalonia. Begin your trip in your comfortable coach from the meeting point to the foot of the mountain, at which point you will board a cogwheel train, ascending the mountain steadily until you hit a height of just a little over 4,000 ft, traversing the natural cement and sandstone rocks of the mountain and enjoying the majestic views as you go along before arriving at the Monastery.

Visit the Basilica of Montserrat, which houses the Virgin of Montserrat, who was the patron saint of Catalonia. The little monastery first gained fame and recognition when it started receiving pilgrims and visitors who spread the word of the miracles and wonders performed by the Virgin. You can also admire from a distance the famous 12th century Romanesque carving of the Verge Moreneta, better known as the Black Madonna. The treasures within the monastery are almost as breathtaking as the views from it.

You will then be given some free time to visit the audio- visual exhibition about the creation of Montserrat and its rich history, as well as getting to taste the typical liquors of the mountain, hand made at the monastery itself. Should the time of year be opportune, you may get to enjoy the beautiful performance by the Escolania of Montserrat, the children’s choir at the sanctuary.

It's recommended to wear weather-appropriate clothes and comfortable walking shoes as the tour includes a fair amount of walking.
