what to expect

Perched off a cliff-top, Kalbarri Skywalk includes two lookouts that are located 100-meters above ground level. Extending 25 and 17 meters off the edge of the Murchison Gorge, the skywalks go right over the Murchison River. From here, you can catch unmatched views of the surrounding Kalbarri National Park and the stunning gorge. Over 800 species of wildflowers bloom throughout the park, of which 21 can be found along with the gorge country and clifftop.

A Taste Of The Local Culture

Visitors can also learn about the local ‘Nanda’ heritage and culture from the numerous works of art and signage at the attraction. There are several walking trails that are present around the attraction. Be sure to carry a lot of water before embarking on a short trek, since it tends to get quite hot and dry in the afternoons! There are also several shade shelters where you can take a break and enjoy some food and drinks from the kiosks. The kiosks have been designed to be environmentally friendly, running on an off-the-grid energy system.

Kalbarri Skywalk Ticket Price

All the coastal sites of Kalbarri National Park are free to enter. However, there is a $15 entry cost per vehicle (carrying up to a maximum of 12 passengers). You can visit any of the inland gorge sites, as well as the skywalks after paying the entry fee.

Sightseeing at Natures Window

Located to the south of the park, Nature’s Window is another popular attraction that sees thousands of visitors every year. Formed by several layers of Tumblagooda Sandstone, it is one of Australia's most iconic natural landmarks. You must follow some stairs and take a picturesque trail past numerous lookout points until you reach the viewpoint which frames the upstream view of the stunning Murchison River. The walk is approximately 1 kilometer and will take about 20 minutes each way.

Ross Graham Lookout

If you would like to get close to the Murchison River, the Ross Graham Lookout is the perfect place. If you would like to enjoy a picnic out in nature, this location is a great spot to enjoy a day out with your family and friends. If you want to catch some memorable 360-degree views of the park, Meanarra Hill is located close by. Once you’ve had your fair share of beautiful sights, you can visit the stunning coasts as well!

Kalbarri Natural Bridge

The Kalbarri Natural Bridge is a short walk from the car park, and visitors can enjoy breathtaking coastal views and look at marine life, including dolphins and whales. Safety enclosures are in place to ensure that all visitors can have a safe and enjoyable experience. The best season to see Australian whales is between July and October.

Red Bluff Beach

If you would prefer to spend a relaxing day by the beach, Red Bluff Beach is the place to go. The white sand forms an eye-catching contrast against the rust-red rocks of the area, and is the perfect place for some Instagram-worthy photographs! At sunset, the scenery serves as an excellent backdrop for some family photography. Snorkeling, fishing, and swimming are some popular activities here.

Z Bend

The Z Bend is one of the four lookouts in the Kalbarri National Park and is located on a sharp bend in the Murchison Gorge. You can catch stunning views of the natural Tumblagooda sandstone formations here. The lookout point is a 600-meter walk from the car park, and the short trek offers scenic views of the river gorge and area.

Eagle Gorge Lookout

As the name suggests, you can watch the majestic wedge-tailed eagles swoop through the sky from Eagle Gorge Lookout. You can take a small walk down to the coast, where you can wet your feet and perhaps even enjoy a picnic along the calm waters of the beach. Please note that you must avoid swimming beyond the breakers since there are no lifeguards stationed at this area. If you visit the area in spring, the wildflowers come out in vibrant blooms, and are a sight to behold! If you’re lucky, you can even see some emus and grey kangaroos in the area, along with the Kalbarri Catspaw and Kalbarri Spider Orchid wildflower species.
