What is The Dubai Creek Tower
The Dubai Creek Tower is a hyper-tall tower in Dubai, still under development. The tower is said to become the world’s tallest tower and man-made structure upon completion in 2022. As it is planned to be the centerpiece of the Dubai Creek Harbor, it has been named the Dubai Creek Tower.
Why Visit The Dubai Creek Tower
Head out to the glorious Dubai Creek, a waterfront vicinity that boasts Dubai’s history and culture. At its center, you’ll find the ambitious Dubai Creek Harbor project: the Dubai Creek Tower proposed to be the world’s largest tower by 2022. Funnily enough, the Dubai Creek Tower will be located a mere 8 kilometers away from the current record holder, Burj Khalifa! This heaven-kissing tower will be hard to resist when in Dubai, with its elongated oval-shaped structure. Apart from the observation decks, the tower will house the Pinnacle Room, top-class restaurants, tourist facilities, shops, and more- making sure your visit will be worthwhile!
Dubai Creek Tower Design & Construction
The architect, Santiago Calatrava drew inspiration for his design from the natural form of the lily flower (which interestingly enough also inspired the foot-print shape of Burj Khalifa!) The other distinctive features of the Dubai Creek Tower are the cable arrays that connect the tower to the anchors, spread on the two sides of the tower. Their design was yet another ode to the flower lily (resembling the ribbing of lily leaves). The tower resembles a minaret- a structure evident in Islamic architecture. A slender stem serves as the spine of the tower and an elongated oval-shaped structure near the tip resembles the bud of the lily! This truly majestic structure can be painted with words but is ten times more appealing in real life.
