There's no better way to explore this marvel of the old world than on this tour that not only gives you dedicated access, bypassing the long lines for entry into the structure, but also allows you to see the Colosseum in a way that most people never get to see.
Meet up with your guide and he will then escort you to the Group Entrance, meaning that you will entire bypass the winding lines and the crowds that are gathered at the main entrance to the attraction. Once you enter the partially constructed arena floor and look up at the many tiered structure of the Colosseum, the history of the place really does immerse you and you can almost imagine the din of the battle mongering throngs that once used to come here to see the gladiators fight for their lives in the very place on which you stand.
The sheer size and majesty of the Colosseum dwarfs you when you stand in the arena and gaze around at this monument that has survived the test of time and it's hard to figure out how such a gargantuan piece of architecture was built so very long ago. You guide, of course, will be happy to answer your questions and tell you tales about the epic battles fought in the arena in ancient times. Bone chilling stories will accompany you as you walk through the areas where mock hunts and wars were set up, as well as when you look out on the arena from the Emperor's Box, where the fates of many men and women had been decided. Your guide will also walk you along the entire circumference of the Colosseum so you can truly understand what this amphitheater must have been like when it was occupied by the almost 80,000 screaming Romans that it was built to accommodate.
Following your tour of the Colosseum, your guide will then lead the way to the Roman Forum, where they will help you to gain your skip the line access. You'll be taken to a vantage point with spectacular views where your guide will give you an introduction to the history of the Forum as well as outline the most important and breathtaking monuments present here before giving you the opportunity to explore the area on your own, after which you will trek to the top of the Palatine Hill for unparalleled views of the Forum and Circus Maximus.
This experience of the Colosseum is truly unique since you will be gaining access to parts of the attraction that the general public never has, making this a truly memorable hour and a half spent at this beacon of Ancient Rome.
