The tour was great. But Return Bus service had stopped before the tour ended, we did not have a chance to get back to the shuttle bus pick point at the castle, and had to walk 30 min down hill in the dark and rain.. This service MUST be improved.

The lady in charge was very kind and explained everything twice and with a slow and clear accent, which was very useful for those, like me, who learned English as a second languaje. And also provided us with relevant información. The schedule was precise, and the bus very clean. I'm very happy with the service

The premium tour was definitely worth the price because the bus was way nicer, there was coffee, water, fruits, and snacks, the tour groups were smaller so we weren't crowded into the spaces as much as the bigger groups were. We got to the castles early so we were the first ones in line. I do recommend not booking on a sunday as the stores will be closed if you want souvenirs.

Neuschwanstein Castle in Winter

A wintry landscape, frozen waterfalls, and horse-drawn carriages serve as your guide as you make your way up to Neuschwanstein. Views of snow-covered meadows and frozen lakes beneath the Alps can be seen while visiting Neuschwanstein in the winter.
With gluwein and good food, the small settlement beneath the Alps turns into a winter wonderland.

Castle That Inspired Disney

The wonderful Walt Disney Company logo was created after Disney was inspired by the magnificent Neuschwanstein castle. The castle in Sleeping Beauty was based on this one. In addition, Hong Kong Disneyland Disneyland also has a replica of the castle.

Neuschwanstein Castle Architecture  (exteriors)

The Gothic, Romanesque, and Byzantine architectural styles are all present in Neuschwanstein Castle. An idealized representation of a medieval castle was commissioned by King Ludwig II, sometimes known as the "Fairy Tale King."
Despite how it seems like a traditional castle, it was built for aesthetic value rather than for defense. a combination of various architectural styles, including Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, etc. Romanticism had a strong influence on it in its "purer forms”.

Equipment and modern technology

King Ludwig II demanded that there be a central heating system, telephone lines, and other modern equipment installed in his castle. The royal residence had central heating that heated the rooms with hot air. There was running water, including hot and cold water in the kitchen. The toilets flushed on their own.
The king used an electric call system to summon servants. There was an elevator provided so that the food was easily received without carrying it up the steps.

Hall of the Singers

The Throne Hall was one of the most significant rooms in the castle, but one of the king's favorite constructions was the Singers' Hall. It combines the Festival Hall and the Singers' Hall, two historically significant Wartburg chambers, and takes up the entire fourth level in the eastern part of the Palas.

Ballroom

The Hall of the Singers is the palace's largest room in terms of square footage, followed by the Throne Hall. The Ballroom and the Hall of the Singers, two Wartburg halls, were combined in their design. One of the king's favorite palace renovation projects featured motifs from Lohengrin and Parsifal.

Throne Hall

The throne hall, which is marvelously furnished in the neo-Byzantine style with a 4-meter-high brass chandelier, is without a doubt the most magnificent space. The throne although decorated with paintings and gold, is not present in the throne hall. This may be a sign of the absence of the visionary king who died before he could take control.

Royal Lodging

When the king was building the castle, there were to be elaborate apartments stocked with the finest furnishings, a music hall, and a sizable courtyard where people could take in the fresh mountain air. The royal residence has been a key draw for travelers from other regions.
