Why Watch The Illusionists

The Illusionists has been running on Broadway since Christmas 2014, albeit with a different cast. Produced by Simon Painter since the original production was showcased at Sydney in 2012, The Illusionists has gone on to become one of the highest-grossing shows on Broadway. A star-studded cast of talented illusionists will be seen on stage, performing a vast array of tricks to enthrall the audience.

Once a budding pianist, Shin Lim was forced to give up from becoming a piano performer as a result of developing carpal tunnel syndrome. The influence of his roots in music, however, continues to live on in his magic acts.

Darcy Oake, of Britain’s Got Talent fame, also appears in the show and performs some death-defying stage illusions.

Adam Trent is a well-known magician whose 10-episode TV series, The Road Trick, is airing across the world, and is a long-time performer on Broadway who also features on The Illusionists.

Chloe Crawford, also of Britain’s Got Talent fame, and one of the up-and-coming magicians currently, sets fire on stage with her energetic performance.

Colin Cloud, who dubs himself a forensic mind reader, will enthrall the audience with his acute observation skills that could only be rivaled only by Sherlock Holmes.

All five magicians bring something different to the stage, giving you a wonderful confluence of all styles of entertainment that includes sleight of hand and close-up magic acts, large-scale stage illusions, and mind-reading, infused with elements of comedy and humor.

Christmas truly is the magical time of the year, as The Illusionists perform at the Marquis Theatre during the holiday season. Get ready to experience a performance of unprecedented proportions!

The show involves a continuous series of tricks and illusions, performed by five different illusionists. Each of the five performers bring something different to the stage.

You will see “The Manipulator” Shin Lim at work as he performs some of the greatest card tricks on stage. His sleight of hand and technical skill, combined with wordless performance is mesmerizing, and the synchronization with the background score is spectacular to witness in person. You will see “The Grand Illusionist” Darcy Oake combine his trademark dove magic with some daredevil acts that will surely convince you that magic is real. Colin Cloud’s incredible observation skills are a treat to witness, as he infers some of the deepest secrets of the audience members. You will quickly understand why he has been described as a modern Sherlock Holmes. Chloe Crawford adds some glamor to the show, and her nickname “The Sorceress” is fitting, owing to her bewitching appearance and mind-boggling illusions. Adam Trent’s stage presence and charisma are spectacular to see, and he brings the same infectious energy regardless of whether he is performing a close-up act or an ambitious illusion! The 90-minute show presents an endless set of fascinating tricks that are guaranteed to leave you on the edge of your seat throughout!
