Why You Should Watch Anne Frank, The Musical
Why You Should Watch Anne Frank, The Musical
With the Hitler-led Nazi dictatorship cracking down hard on Jewish families in all the territories it has occupied, the Franks and the Van Daans are forced to lead a frugal and secretive life in the attic of a friendly shopkeeper named Kraler. As they struggle to stay undetected in this tyrannical regime, a young woman named Anne Frank logs her experiences in a diary. From her love affair with Peter Van Daan to her eventual capture, Anne Frank’s diary brilliantly enunciates her undying hope and courage in the face of devilish oppression and antisemitism.
After receiving rave reviews and an official recognition from the Anne Frank Museum at Amsterdam, Anne Frank, The Musical is headed to New York. This English adaptation of the original musical features a cast of 12 performers who bring the characters in Anne Frank’s diary to life like never before. Jean-Pierre Hadida’s masterpiece is directed and produced by the famous baritone David Serero. With over 20 albums, 100 films, and innumerable concerts to his name, Serero is set to reprise his role as Otto Frank in this production.
