When was the last time you took a good look at yourself? This ticket to Amsterdam’s Body Worlds Museum is the perfect place to peel back the layers and get an insight into human anatomy. The museum is inspired by German anatomist Gunther von Hagens’s 1977 invention of plastination, a process where real bodies are preserved for scientific research and medical education. The current exhibit, titled ‘The Happiness Project’ explores questions like how mood and happiness can affect our physical and mental health. It’s a science lesson with a twist!
On the 1-hour cruise of Amsterdam, see the city’s historic canals that have made it to UNESCO’s World Heritage list. Float by famous monuments such as the Westerkerk church, the Magere Brug on the Amstel river and the picturesque streets of Negen Straatjes district. Don’t forget to bring your camera to take photos! There’s also a free audio guide on board, available in several languages, to give you information about all that you see.
