Drawing heavily from nature and Neo-Mudejar architecture, which is a revival of Moorish styles, this unique design can be seen in Casa Vicens through its horseshoe arches and colorful facades. The house is adorned with motifs like birds, vines, and ivy on the tiles, an elaborate cast-iron gate, murals, and even some of the furniture.

Gaudí used various materials, including papier-mâché, to create a stunning home that blended influences from around the world, incorporating elements from Indian and Japanese architecture. Antoni Gaudí’s belief that “the house is the nation of the family” is evident in Casa Vicens, which truly embodies its own distinct style and cultural essence.

Casa Vicens – Barcelona

What not to miss at Casa Vicens

1Rooftop

This is the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of life, and take in some quiet time.
