About The Theatre<\/a>Seating Plan<\/a><\/p>\n

The Prince of Wales Theater, located in Coventry Street, near Leicester Square in London, is one of the oldest and most popular theatres in West End. The original venue, called the Prince Theatre, was built by C.J. Phillips in 1884, with a seating capacity of just over 1000 people. The theatre was renamed Prince of Wales the same year. The theatre\u2019s auditorium is decked out in a 1930\u2019s Art Deco style, stemming from the theatre\u2019s reopening in 1937. The interior tends to follow colour themes of cream, ivory. and gold which highlight the traditional red velvet seating within the auditorium. Being one of the oldest theatres in London, Prince of Wales has seen its fair share of notable productions. Some of the memorable productions include It\u2019s Magic, South Pacific, Aspects of Love, West Side Story, Rent, The Witches of Eastwick, Mamma Mia!, and Let It Be.<\/p>\n

Presently, Prince of Wales Theater is hosting the 2013 West End production of The Book of Mormon, which made its mega successful debut on Broadway in 2011 before moving to West End. Written by the creators of the cult TV hit South Park, The Book of Mormon has established itself as one of London\u2019s most popular musicals. The show arrived in London to instant success, winning four Olivier Awards including Best New Musical.<\/p>\n

Accessible Seating<\/h3>\n

The main foyer has level access from the street through double doors. There is a lift in the main foyer that services the Stalls and bar. The Stalls are 22 steps down, and the Dress Circle is 13 steps above street level. Guide dogs are allowed into the auditorium, or can be looked after by theatre staff<\/p>\n

Transfer seating is also available in the Stalls, and theatre staff can look after wheelchairs during the performance. There is a lift that services the bars, foyer and Stalls, but does not go up to the Circle level.<\/p>\n

Available Facilities<\/h3>\n

Assistive Listening System<\/b>: The Prince of Wales Theatre is fitted with an induction loop at the box office and an infrared system in the main auditorium.<\/p>\n

Bar<\/b>: The Prince of Wales has two bars – The American Bar in the Dress Circle and The Delfont Room in the Stalls. The Stalls bar is accessible by lift, and drinks can also be brought to disabled patrons in the auditorium.<\/p>\n

Cloakroom<\/b>: The Prince of Wales Theatre does have a cloakroom in which large bags and pushchairs can be checked.<\/p>\n

Toilets<\/b>: Male and female toilets are located in the Stalls and at the back of the Dress Circle. There is an adapted toilet accessible from the Stalls via a lift.<\/p>\n

Wheelchair<\/b>: Wheelchair spaces are in the Stalls and must be booked in advance. There is space for a companion by each of these seats<\/p>\n
