The Girl from the North Country is a musical inspired by the legendary musician, Bob Dylan. Set in 1934, in Dylan\u2019s hometown of Duluth, Minnesota, the story revolves around the Laine family and their struggles after the Great Depression. Nick Laine, while trying to keep his family from being homeless, also has to deal with an alcoholic son, a wife suffering from dementia and a pregnant daughter who refuses to reveal the identity of her baby\u2019s father. The situation goes further out of control when one stormy night, a bible salesman, a boxer and a couple seek shelter at the Laine guesthouse.<\/p>\n

The Girl from the North Country features a talented cast, including Tony Award nominees Marc Kudisch and David Pittu, and Emmy and Oscar-winning actress Mare Winningham. The play is directed by celebrated playwright Conor McPherson, who has won an Olivier Award for this show. This Broadway musical is set to open on 5 March 2020, with previews beginning on 7 Feb.<\/p>\n

The Belasco Theater has a total seating capacity of 1016. The orchestra section is closest section to the stage and has 505 seats in total.
