\"Tina:<\/span> News Update<\/a> Tina: The Tina Turner Musical Tickets<\/a> Seating Chart<\/a><\/p>\n

Tina: The Tina Turner Musical, starring Tony and Olivier Award nominee Adrienne Warren<\/a>, opened for previews at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre<\/a>. The actor will take on the stage as the former rock and roll superstar and 11-time Grammy winner, and will bring back some of the old classics for the audience this season. Adrienne Warren, who earned an Olivier Award nomination earlier this year for her work in the London world premiere of the musical – Shuffle Along – will be seen alongside Daniel J. Watts<\/a> as Ike Turner, Dawnn Lewis<\/a> as Zelma, and Myra Lucretia Taylor<\/a> as Gran Georgeanna. Nkeki Obi-Melekwe will also be playing Tina Turner for select shows.<\/p>\n

Directed by Phyllida Lloyd<\/a>, the musical will trace the life of the superstar from her early days in Nutbush, Tennessee, to her big break and transformation into the global diva – after encountering several obstacles during the same. The musical also comes alive with many of her popular hits, including “River Deep Mountain High,” “Proud Mary,” “Private Dancer,” and “(Simply) The Best.” The critically acclaimed musical penned by Olivier Award-winning playwright Katori Hall will run for 2 hours 42 minutes, including one intermission.<\/p>\n

Apart from this, Steven Booth, Nick Rashad Burroughs, Gerald Caesar, Holli\u2019 Conway, Kayla Davion, Leandra Ellis-Gaston, Charlie Franklin, Judith Franklin, Matthew Griffin, Sheldon Henry, David Jennings, Ross Lekites, Robert Lenzi, Gloria Manning, Rob Marnell, Mehret Marsh, Jhardon DiShon Milton, Destinee Rea, Mars Rucker, Jessica Rush, Allysa Shorte, Carla Stewart, Jayden Theophile, Antonio Watson, and Katie Webber are some prominent names that will be seen rounding out the company. Choreography by Anthony van Laast<\/a>, set design by Mark Thompson, musical supervision, additional music and arrangements by Nicholas Skilbeck<\/a>, lighting by Bruno Poet<\/a>, sound by Nevin Steinberg, projection design by Jeff Sugg, and orchestrations by Ethan Popp will also feature in this production.<\/p>\n
