NYCB The Nutcracker: Story

The Nutcracker is a two-act story of fantastical characters and the dreams of a young child Marie. It is Christmas Eve, and the Stahlbaum residence is joyous and festive. Marie is gifted a handsome wooden nutcracker by her godfather and she is instantly mesmerized by it, so much so that she goes to sleep holding on to it. The night takes a strange turn as Marie wakes up in a world where the nutcracker has come to life and so have her toys!

They are all as big as her and are fighting off an army of mice led by a Mouse King. The nutcracker kills the Mouse King and instantly turns into a young Prince. They celebrate and enter into the fantasy Land of Sweets that is ruled by the Sugarplum Fairy. Watch the NYCB Nutcracker to meet the other wonderful residents of this dreamy realm and the adventures they have!
