Inside Deep Dive Dubai

The Sunken City and its wonders

Deep Dive Dubai's extensive pools is not unique for just its size. The magnificent pool comes with an underwater cityscape to make for a dynamic experience for the divers, as opposed to the poolbed being made of merely by simple white tiles.

'The Sunken City' is fashioned after the concept of post-apocalyptic ruins of a city under water. The city can be explored at various depths by everyone taking part in the Deep Dive Dubai experiences, be it scuba diving, freediving or snorkelling. What makes this astonishing is that the cityscape underwater changes with each depth and gives the impression of nature taking over, the deeper you go!

  1. At 0-25m: Storefronts, streetlights, ATMs, benches.
  2. At 28m: A full apartment.
  3. At 38m: A motor garage featuring cars, motorbikes, arcade games, etc.
  4. At 40-60m: A deep shaft with brickwalls and graffiti.

The Technology at Deep Dive Dubai

Complete with state-of-the-art technology, Deep Dive Dubai is a lot more than just the world's deepest swimming pool! It boasts of a filtration system has been developed by NASA, and excellent filming capabilities!

The Filtration System

The pool's water filtrations system filters the pool's freshewaters every 6 hours; it is one of the largest and fastest filter systems in the region.

The water is passed through a perlite filter that consists of volcanic rock, where organic matter, along with dust and debris, is removed. Then, a state-of-the-art techonology developed by NASA uses the ionization process to control bacteria. Finally, UV reactors disinfect the water, getting rid of any bacteria before the water temperature is adjusted to be released back into the pool.

The Hyperbaric Chamber

A hyperbaric chamber is a pressurized chamber that is used for medical treatment or therapy. chambers are typically used to treat conditions such as decompression sickness, gas embolism, and carbon monoxide poisoning. The larger chamber features lounge chairs as well as a TV and can accommodate 10 people at a time.

Filming Capabilities

Deep Dive Dubai can accommodate a host of underwater filming requirements. Within the pool, the “sunken city” can be used as a film set backdrop with other set dressing options possible. The pool’s lighting system can be adjusted fully to darken the pool completely or illuminate it fully. Above water facilities including the pool deck, reception and restaurant feature a modern design and can be also used as sets. Back-end support includes a media editing room as well as a variety of offices and rooms. Deep Dive Dubai’s staff can also be engaged to provide professional underwater photo and video support, as well as editing support.

Deep Dive Dubai Reviews

What can you say about our snorkeling experience with Suman, a fantastic and friendly instructor who was showing us some tips and tricks on how to snorkel better and just an overall unbelievable coyote of hours. This is highly highly recommended.

- James Stott, TripAdvisor, August 2022

Deep dive Dubai is incredible! Our guide Titu was amazing and really took care of us! It was the three of us, my husband and I and our son and we all had a guide assigned to us. I was very scared and it took me a while to let go of the ramp , I also had moments of slight panic where I started breathing fast but Titu really helped me stay calm! This is a must do! The staff is awesome - the experience amazing ! Well worth it !

Tips for your Visit

  • Before you dive, make sure to have a plan in place. This includes knowing where you're going to dive, what you hope to see, and what your safety limits are. By having a plan, you can ensure that your dive is both safe and enjoyable.
  • Make sure you have the proper gear for your dive. This includes a wet suit, fins, mask, and snorkel. If you don't have the right gear, you may not be able to safely dive.
  • Before you enter the water, take a few minutes to check your equipment and yourself. Make sure your gear is secure and that you are comfortable with it. Also, make sure you know how to use your safety devices.
  • When you're diving, be sure to follow the basic rules of safe diving. These include not diving alone, not diving too deep, and not holding your breath while diving. By following these simple rules, you can help keep yourself safe underwater.
  • One of the most important things to remember when diving is to know your limits. Don't push yourself beyond your comfort level or safety limits. If you're not comfortable with a particular dive, don't do it.
