Why Watch Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Directed by three-time Tony Award winner Jack O'Brien, this magical production is guaranteed to make you laugh. A tenderhearted storyline, the musical recreates Dahl’s 1964 children’s novel. Including songs from the original film, such as “Pure Imagination” and “The Candy Man,” plus new numbers as charming as the originals, join Charlie on the adventure of lifetime.

The Story

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a story of family, hope, and determination. The musical journey follows Charlie in a series of fortunate events. After winning a ticket to visit Willy Wonka's infamous chocolate factory, he decides to bring his grandpa along. Inside the factory, Charlie and Grandpa find themselves amongst the other ticket winners. As Mr. Wonka begins their tour of the factory, his guests soon discover the real reason for their visit.

Charlie And The Chocolate Factory was a cute, one of a kind show that my whole family enjoyed. Don't hold back thinking this is a children's musical, you might be surprised as to how wonderful the show gets over time.

We were transported into a delicious, make-believe world of Willy Wonka's factory. Disappointed that there was no actual chocolate! Lol! Do go for this one, it'll make your day.

A play that takes you back in time. Charlie and the chocolate factory has a few minor glitches, and there were a couple of lines unsuitable for a PG audience. But nonethenless, the story remains as fresh as ever. I enjoyed my experience.
