Why Watch A Christmas Carol: The Musical
A Christmas Carol is a stunning adaptation of one of Charles Dickens’ famous stories. The well-known retelling has stayed in New York’s Madison Square Garden for over a decade, proving the lasting power of this tale’s important message. First staged in 1974, the creative, yet ghostly plot brings forth an imaginative angle to the existing traditional storyline. The show turns the tale of Scrooge into a joyous, musical comedy, packed with a spurt of energy and a soulful background score that retains the poignant heart of the original. Deemed as a masterpiece, this is one an ideal choice for those looking to get in the holiday spirit.
The famous tale by Charles Dickens follows Ebenezer Scrooge, a miserly old man, through a night of fraught and visits by hauntingly old holiday spirits. The first visitor is a former business partner who passed away and warns him that he will soon be haunted by the three spirits of Christmas: The Ghost of Christmas Past, Christmas Present, and Christmas yet to come. Soon after dismissing his partner, Scrooge ends up in a shock as his life flashes before his eyes and he is forced to face a cold, bitter path of redemption.
