Here are the top upcoming attractions in Abu Dhabi for you to plan your vacation and make it more memorable:

Guggenheim Abu Dhabi

Expected Opening Date: 2022
Touted to be one of the foremost art museums of the world, The Guggenheim Abu Dhabi will be located in the Saadiyat Island district. Expect spectacular views of the Arabian Gulf here, which will surround it on three sides. The Guggenheim Abu Dhabi’s design is credited to the award-winning architect Frank Gehry and includes a series of asymmetric cones that surround the main building. These cones act as both entrances to the museum and exterior exhibition spaces. Fun fact: These cone-like buildings were inspired by the region’s wind towers, lending it an authentic local appearance. Guggenheim Abu Dhabi is designed as a forum for cultural dialogue, and to bring together curators, architects, and artists. The collections of Guggenheim Abu Dhabi will showcase artworks of all forms from across the globe, dating from the 1960s to the present day, with a special emphasis on West Asian, North African, and South Asian art.

Zayed National Museum

Expected Opening Date: 2021
Saadiyat Island is set to add another jewel to its crown: Zayed National Museum, the national museum of the UAE. Its design mirrors the wings of a falcon - and the museum’s awe-inspiring concept was conceived by UK architects Foster and Partners. Zayed National Museum features a cluster of towers, the biggest of which will be 123 metres high. Once it is opened, the museum’s collection will tell the story of the UAE’s founding father Sheikh Zayed, as well as shed a light on the history, culture, social, and economic transformation of the Emirates, examining its relationships with the Middle East and the world.  The British Museum will loan several items to Zayed National Museum after signing a ten-year agreement to assist with curating the exhibition.

Snow Abu Dhabi

Expected Opening Date: 2021
S’now joke: the UAE is set to build an enchanted forest-themed snow park in Abu Dhabi, and it is said to be the world’s largest snow park. Snow Abu Dhabi will span across a huge 125,000 sq ft area, divided into several whimsical zones. Walk through icy labyrinths, indulge in a snowball fight, and go tobogganing, rubber-ring luging, and ice skating. There’s even talk of virtual aurora borealis displays! The park will maintain a temperature of -2ºC, with a 500mm covering of snow (more than enough for a snowman building). Snow Abu Dhabi is also said to be the world’s first omnichannel mall, offering a ‘blended retail’ approach, which allows for digital shopping (through an app/website) at the same time as conventional ‘bricks and mortar mall shopping.
